Kennebunk, ME – Biddeford Savings celebrated its first “birthday” of their Kennebunk office in a big way.
Istar, a life-size 45-foot inflatable humpback whale from the Children’s Museum and Theatre of Maine in Portland, was the featured attraction at the Kennebunk office on Friday and Saturday, June 15 and 16. Visitors were also able to view an actual skeleton of a pilot whale provided by The Chewonki Foundation in Wiscasset, Maine.
“A healthy environment is a critical component of everyone’s shared path to prosperity,” notes Charles Petersen, bank president and CEO. “For the celebration of the first year of our bank in Kennebunk, we wanted to highlight the value of our coastal environment and some of the wonderful creatures that live right off of our coast in the Gulf of Maine. Financial health and environmental health go hand-in-hand in ensuring prosperity for everyone.”
Free 20-minute tours of Istar were hosted by staff from The Children’s Museum and Theatre of Maine. Visitors were able to go inside Istar and explore artifacts to learn about humpback whales and the story of these remarkable marine mammals.
