Biddeford Savings helps students get a closer look at Marsh

Biddeford, ME, July 11 – Lori Boucouvalas, vice president and branch manager of the Scarborough office of Biddeford Savings (left) and Linda Woodard, director of the Scarborough Marsh Audubon Center (right) help third graders from Scarborough’s Intermediate School, from left, Sarah, Eliana, Utkarsh, and Christian, get a closer look at one of the species of birds found at the Marsh.

Biddeford, ME, July 11 – Lori Boucouvalas, vice president and branch manager of the Scarborough office of Biddeford Savings (left) and Linda Woodard, director of the Scarborough Marsh Audubon Center (right) help third graders from Scarborough’s Intermediate School, from left, Sarah, Eliana, Utkarsh, and Christian, get a closer look at one of the species of birds found at the Marsh. The bank donated $2500 to support school field trips to the Marsh as well as hundreds of special magnifying glasses that were distributed to students visiting the Marsh to help them get a closer look at the wildlife there. “By acquainting the students with the wonders they can find here,” notes Woodard, “we hope to arouse their interest so that they develop an appreciation for nature and will be motivated to seek more knowledge.”
